During his 1975 victory, Bill Rodgers stopped five times: four times for water and once to tie a shoelace at the base of Heartbreak Hill. When told his time was 2:09:55, Boston Billy remarked, “I can’t run that fast!”

TEAM EARLEY is a proud member and supporter of the Running for Cover TEAM, the running team of the Melanoma Foundation of New England. Since it’s inception in 2006, Running for Cover has participated in a wide range of races to raise funds to support the fight against melanoma.
With marathon legend Bill Rodgers as honorary Team Captain, MFNE’s race team, Running for Cover, will be at the starting line for the 2013 Boston Marathon.
Thanks to our six-year partnership with the Boston Athletic Association, Running for Cover has raised over $1 million to benefit MFNE’s mission. In 2011, we were thrilled to be officially named a Legacy Charity by the Boston Athletic Assoc. Each of our runners share a passion for our cause. Many of them are survivors, family members of survivors, or lost a loved one to melanoma. It is their dedication that helps spread awareness and educate others in the fight against melanoma.
This year representing TEAM EARLEY are Gregory & Erin Earley. This father/daughter duo have been running with MFNE for a number of years at a number of races. Every race they run is in honor of their wife/mother, Kathy. Kathy was diagnosed with stage III melanoma in 2007, and this past fall she celebrated five-years of being melanoma free!
